Hi.

Playgrounds, spraygrounds, and pools are a fun way to get Moms and kids out of the house and in the sunshine. Long Island has a multitude of fantastic playgrounds for residents and guests to enjoy.

Sunset Park

Sunset Park

This playground is in a residential pocket, far off Merrick Road. It's a secret except to the locals.

This playground is better for younger children. There are swings, lots of slides and tires, and things to hang on. There is no shade and no restrooms here. The ground is wood chips. The playground is older and faded but well-maintained.

The entire park is fenced-in with a few entrances so you can feel comfortable your kids can't escape without you noticing. The tennis courts are directly adjacent to the playground so if you have an older child or mother's helper with you, you could play tennis while the kids play.

GOOD FOR: Having a playground to yourself on a partly cloudy day.

BEST FEATURE: Large expanses for running, sunny picnicking on a blanket, or playing ball.

YOU SHOULD KNOW:  You can park on either side of the street near the fence entrances.

WORTH A LONG DRIVE: No, this is older.
