Hi.

Playgrounds, spraygrounds, and pools are a fun way to get Moms and kids out of the house and in the sunshine. Long Island has a multitude of fantastic playgrounds for residents and guests to enjoy.

Haypath Road Park Playground

Haypath Road Park Playground

This playground is right off Haypath Road, very close to Old Bethpage Restoration Village (which has no playground). The playground sits at the top of the hill at the edge of the parking lot. There is a feeling of being in the woods with great smells of wood and leaves. We went on a windy day and the sound of the leaves blowing was beautiful.

There are lots of cool climbing features such as ladders made of links, a pole bridge, monkey bar, and hanging handles. There is also a spinning bar, rock climb, and a very tall slide. The playground also includes a musical area where they can make sounds of instruments and rain as well as play puzzles.

Despite the surrounding tall trees, the playground is fairly exposed and sunny. The ground is made of wood chips. Bathrooms are located inside the locked building adjacent to the playground but there is one accessible in the rear. Here, there are several picnic tables in the sun. Behind this area there are ball fields and a basketball court.

BEST FEATURE: The super tall slide and partly woodsy feel.

GOOD FOR: Lunching at the picnic tables or going to the playground after an afternoon at Old Bethpage Restoration Village.

YOU SHOULD KNOW: The playground is half fenced in, right next to the parking lot with two wide openings. If you have a runner, you need to keep a close eye on him.

WORTH A LONG DRIVE: No but worth a short drive if you want to switch it up.

ADDRESS: 243 Haypath Road Old Bethpage, NY 11804
