Hi.

Playgrounds, spraygrounds, and pools are a fun way to get Moms and kids out of the house and in the sunshine. Long Island has a multitude of fantastic playgrounds for residents and guests to enjoy.

Cow Meadow Park Playgrounds

There are two playgrounds at this large park, both located within sight of the parking lot.

THE LARGE PLAYGROUND is newer and located past the parking lot towards the water. My kids thought this one was the nicer one. This area is fenced in and appears on the newer side with cheery, bright colors. It issunny with a little shade but be sure to bring the sunscreen. The ground is green turf which seems a bit funny. From this playground there is a view of the water which is a short walk away. Restrooms are right next to this area. There are some nice features here such as some teaching signs, a fish bridge, a pirate ship, and gazebos with large landings for shade for the kids. There are also the typical swings and slides and hanging bars. You'll also find a sprinkler area which is made of mostly concrete. Push the button on the pole to activate the water.

GOOD FOR: Tiring your kids out before a meal on the Nautical Mile (very close by).

BEST FEATURE: The many large slides. My kids liked the tube slides the best.

YOU SHOULD KNOW: The park feels a little run down but is pleasant enough.

THE OTHER PLAYGROUND is located to the right of the parking lot, next to the Cow Meadow trail. It is smaller and most-likely intended for parties at the pavilion. The ground is sand and there is absolutely no shade here. The equipment is a bit faded and there are some swings missing.
