Baldwin Park Playground
The playground is located at the end of the road at the back of the park. Note the sunken tennis courts and the playground is behind the water fountain in the distance. The large playground is made up of separate sections in a semi circle. The largest section has a very high bridge, balance beams and monkey bar area, tube slides and twisty slides. There are plenty of swings and a large sandbox with tables and shovels. There is a solo twisty tube slide as well as a little kid play section. Kids can run from one section to the next and feel like the park is huge. The ground is rubber.
The sprayground is very similar to Seamans Neck Park with a long brick wall and three spinklers. Ask in the Administrative building to have it turned on. There's a lot of concrete so bring water shoes for the kids. The ground is sloped to a drain which (unlike Seamans Neck Park) doesn't allow for any water to pool.
Restrooms are located at the Administrative building behind the tennis courts. There is also vending machines for water and Snapple.
GOOD FOR: Cooling the kids off on a hot day. It's a no frills sprinkler park though.
BEST FEATURE: The large sandbox.
YOU SHOULD KNOW: Because the playground is separated within a crescent, when the kids move to the next area you'll have to get up with them or they can be out of sight.
WORTH A LONG TRIP: Yes, if it's a hot day and you are looking to surprise the kids with something new.
